Dr. Elizabeth Novak

DAOM, MSN, L.Ac.

Dr. Elizabeth Novak started her medical career as a Registered Nurse in 1994 and obtained her Masters in Nursing in 1999 from the University of Michigan. She has experience in a wide range of nursing from the emergency room and critical care to anesthesia.

 

Acupuncture came into her scope of practice through an organization called NADA. (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) As a registered nurse she was trained and certified to implement what is now called the NADA protocol. This NADA protocol is used for a variety of aliments from addiction management to PTSD. Her experience was at an outpatient addiction clinic funded by Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

From that experience, Elizabeth gained respect for the efficacy of eastern medicine. She returned to school and completed her Masters of Oriental Medicine in 2009 and Doctorate in 2015.

Dr. Novak is also a two time IRONMAN finisher and avid athlete. Through her own training and experience she has gained vast amounts of knowledge in nutrition for fitness and sport, the psychology (mindset) it takes to reach personal goals, and all aspects around injury prevention and recovery. Elizabeth is extremely passionate about helping her patients meet their personal goals. Her complimentary experience in both eastern medicine and western medicine allows her to provide patients with the best possible care.
